Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I've got 3 DNS-323s. We had some work done on the house so I shutdown all 3 (from each one's admin web interface), unplugged them all and moved them safely away. They were unplugged for about 8 hours each.
Now on startup all are failing to come up in the same way. They power up, front button light flashes, network light goes on on the switch, it's pingable (but nothing else), then network light goes off and it drops off the network. All 3 are doing this.
The one constant is fonz fun_plug - but I only have ssh enabled and have rebooted them multiple times. One is a backup NAS, so I tried a factory reset - not working, same problem.
I've tried removing other network devices. Tried swapping the switch for another one. Nada.
Am I missing something really obvious? I'm posting here before taking the disks out and try to figure what's going on from inspecting the HDDs.
[edit] All are running f/w 1.06.

Got them working. This is truly bizarre - it was the network switch. I normally use a Netgear GS108 (8 port gigabit). For some reason the 3 ports that the DNS-323s were plugged into went dead after the DNS-323s booted up. The switch I swapped out for must've been faulty in some other way because that didn't work either! Quite by luck, I received a new Netgear GS116 in the post today (I need more ports!) and plugged it in - all fine!
What are the possibilities of those 3 exact ports being dead? And my older (previously fine) switch suddenly deciding to fail too? Power supply problems perhaps? Hopefully my new switch won't toast itself ...
