Fan speeds and temp

Hi, I'm using the 1.08 beta. I have 2 1TB WD green drives in raid 1 (or whatever the mirrored mode is). I used both the auto mode (auto off, low, high and auto low/high) and i still get temps of like 45-48C which I think it's too high, right??

So I switched to on manual high, and the best I can get it is 42C while active. It hasn't gone inactive yet so I don't know how that will look like. The house is at about 76-77F.

Any thoughts? how does this compare to your temps?

Re: Fan speeds and temp

Gazoo,

I have the same firmware version 1.08 installed but different disks- Seagate 1TB     ST31000340AS. It reads 43C with ambient temperature being 21C, settings auto.
Since your ambient is 25C I think the readings are perfectly normal and within the expected range.
I would worry only if the disk temperature went over 60C for a longer period of time or touched 70C. Mine reaches 52-55C while active.
Check your disk datasheet, it should give you  the allowed temperature range.
