Hello, I've tried a few searches and wasn't able to find an answer for this, so I'm going to post this question here.
Some of my applications don't like network drives, for no apparent reason, so I'd like to trick Windows Vista x64 into thinking that the DNS-323 drives are local drives. Is this possible, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction?

Search for iscsi maybe that's a way to go.

I just searched for Iscsi and it seems like a lot of people who hope to get it to work, but no idea yet.
Netdrive looks like it should work, except it doesn't support vista x64, so I don't know.
Webdrive looked interesting with the ability to create drives and hook to webdav, which then maybe I could install via one of the hacks, but it seemed pretty risky, the more things you have to install the more points of failure. >_>
Anyone else?

When you are considering Netdrive and Webdrive, I wonder doesn't
net use X: \\server\share
work for you?

I only wish it were that easy, Amazon Video refuses to save to a network drive, and net use is the same as mapping a network drive, basically Windows needs to "think" its a local drive. ISCSI sounds interesting, I'm going to look that way, if anyone has gotten it to work in Vista X64, I'd love to hear about it!

Maybe you can create a big VHD file on your DNS, and mount it as local drive?

Hmm, very interesting idea, if I was determined to only get this to work for my pc, I might go for that, in my case I want to stream some of the videos to my xbox 360 though, so clever tricks won't work.
The people who do netdrive just emailed me back and said there would be an update to the software early next month that would support x64, so I might just wait until then.
