DNS-323 no longer maps drives on my new notebook - help.....

I have a DNS323 on my home network & all my PC's & notebooks can map the DNS323 drives no problem.
However I have recently got a new notebook (that uses Active Directory).
When the notebook boots up it tells me it can not connect to the network drives & I have to go into the DNS easy search untility to remap the drives so the notebook can access them. Then they work fine - until I shut down - then on reboot the same error appears - it does not remember the mapped DNS drives...
All my other computers can access the DNS drives as soon as they boot up but not this notebook :-(

PLease help as this is very frustrating...

Thanks

Re: DNS-323 no longer maps drives on my new notebook - help.....

The phenomenon most likely relates to the AD.  Your new laptop is a member of an AD domain to which the DNS-323 does not (and can not) belong and on your home network, the laptop cannot authenticate with the AD controller (assuming that is at work) and so you are denied access to the resource.

Active Directory is essentially a security system and is used to authenticate users and control access so it's basically doing what it's designed to do

You should be able to select (from the login screen) whether you want to login to the laptop or the domain, you could try login in to the laptop and mapping the drives there, and then see how that works for you.
