A word of caution & ten second check
Recently I had a power cut which resulted in a dead power adaptor - reported elsewhere on this forum.
When I took the dud supply apart there was a sort of ''electrical smelling liquid'' inside. At the time I did not think much about it - it was dud.
I swapped power adaptors from a different DNS-323 to perform a backup. I have not moved the power adaptors in a long while - no need to till now. When I did this, I noticed that the desk under the moved working adaptor was badly stained and the adaptor had leaked / was leaking onto the desk. I don’t know if it is acid or alkali - but it is certainly doing damage.
(I suppose it also means in the near future I have to find another twenty eight pound Sterling for a replacement).
So the message is, if you don’t want your Louis XV desk damaged take a look and take precautions.
