Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I had never used DDNS, but decieded I would configure it while I was changing things up a bit. I had a previously installed twonkyserver, busybox and telnet, but wanted to remove twonky. I did so yesterday, and configured DDNS while I was at it. Couldn't get DDNS up 100%, but the admin status page on the 323 says it's working, but no web access yet. This morning, I see the DNS is offline and has a pink color on the front panel. Restart and it works for a while, then off line again. I observe the FAN is not spinning so we have a heat issue. I am on firmware 1.06. Is it possible that in removing Twonky, I have inadvertantly disabled the fan? Is there an easy way to determine if this is just a coincedental hardware failure?
I have never done anything with the fan - only installed twonkyserver, which is now gone, along with associated subdirectories. I can telnet into the 323, although it doesn't connect every time.
Ideas?
Thanks in advance,

Shut the unit down and then power it up whilst observing the fan - it should run during the boot process before fun_plug is loaded, it it doesn't, you have a hardware problem.

Thanks. The fan doesn't operate at any time. I pulled the fan and tested the connection. I have +5Vdc on the connector, so the fan is toast. Until I can source a replacement, I have an external fan blowing into the front of the unit, with the front cover removed. This should provide adequate cooling. I seem to have a new problem now, in that after a restart the 323 will operate normally for about 5 mins, then drive LEDS turn amber, but the 323 still operates via the web interface, and I can even issue a restart and get another 5 mins of normal operation. What exactly are the AMBER LED's telling me? I am using 2x500G WDC in raid1 config on 1.06 firmware and the 323 has never given a moment's problem until this. The status shows a constant 102F/39C temp.

Amber LEDS...
Seems if there were a genuine hard drive problem, it would be one drive but not both, as is happening. All the DLINK documentation is pretty weak - 'hard drive failure'. Also, it would not work when the 323 is restarted, but it works fine for 5-10-15 minutes. I can read files, update directories, copy folders, etc. I watched about 20 minutes of a blu-ray movie being streamed from the DNS before it quit streaming, but the DNS is still alive and was restarted from the web interface. I'm wondering is this is possibly a heat related problem, and if so, how would I know if I have alerts enabled, but can't get a successful email test using gmail, since I believe non-standard ports are not supported? Is there a log somewhere that would tell me something?
Thanks,
