Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Direct me to a torrent solution

I used to funplug, now I'm just packing the 1.08b5. Really the only feature I need is a decent bittorrent client.

I'd like a client that can save everything Volume_2, and possibly even run from volume_2. Furthermore, I'd like it to spin down the drive if I'm not seeding or downloading. I'd prefer a GUI interface, and hopefully seeding settings (like only seed till 150%) and connection settings (limiting the number of connections).

Is this a reasonable request? Should I get back into funplug to accomplish this? 1.08b5 has the incomplete and complete files on Volume_2 but the torrents are for some reason saved to volume_1. And since the program runs on Volume_1 both drives are always spinning. Unless I turn off the torrent client it seems to forever spin the first volume.

Thanks!

Re: Direct me to a torrent solution

There is transmission which Kyle compiles.

Or you can compile something like rTorrent and slap a webgui on it. This is but more complex as you have to setup lighttpd with php support etc etc.

These should do everything you want.

Re: Direct me to a torrent solution

Please of course of course!

I tried transmission before and didn't find it to be much better or worse than D-links solution. However, if it properly spins down the drive when not in use then that's perfect!

Re: Direct me to a torrent solution

The drives should automatically spin down/turn off when nothing is writing to the disks. I'm not sure if this is true with the DNS-323, I use the DNS-343.

I think shadowandy has a rTorrent build on his blog, though I think it is 0.8.2 which is out of date, but you can just install it using funpkg.

My little guide for rTorrent is at the following place http://dns323.kood.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4495. rTorrent can be a bit of a pain to setup correctly though, just letting you know smile

The search function on the forums goes a long way guys.
