Every time I copy anything to the dns-323, UpdateDB starts running for hours on end. Even if I only copy a single file over. It doesn't take much CPU usage, but seeks hard drive so much that any read/write to the drive is super slow (the seeking is audible as a constant soft higher pitched sound).
I can kill UpdateDB but it respawns immediately.
I don't understand several things:
- Is UpdateDB different than updatedb?
- Why is it run immediately rather than on a schedule?
- Why does it tie up the hard drive and run for so long, even for a single file.
It's made the dns-323 essentially unusable.
