Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Newbie Question:
Is there a way to hide the Fun_Plug Directory from normal view?
Would adding a dot (.Fun_Plug) put it into a hidden view?

why would you want to hide that folder?
just set up permissions on the folder

Just housekeeping for the rest of my users and to help me understand the techniques involved in hiding 'system' folders from my linux and Windows users alike.

i don't think you should be hiding that folder. you should really be setting security to the folder.
Hiding the folder also depends on who you don't want to see it. IE when u telnet ? or just in windows share?

Permissions seemed to be fine -- it was locked down so that my users couldn't access it.
I assume that was done as part of the installation. If so, wouldn't it be prudent to prefix it with a '.' to hide it (My limited understanding is that any folder with a dot prefix is hidden from normal view.
As a newb I was wondering about the mechanisms for hiding systems files from users in order to reduce folder clutter and reduce the curiousity factor of users.

That's true. But it also changes the name, so programs won't find their libraries. You can do this with ffp 0.5, but it's not safe with earlier versions.

Good to know...sorry about the newb questions...but I'm a newb.
I'm going to try installing FunPlug 0.5 next time on my DNS-323 1.07. Hoping for better luck with setting up NFS.
