File transfer to new hard drive has poor performance

I'm upgrading from a 750G Samsung to a 1.5TB WD15EADS by putting the new drive into an empty bay and using rsync on the NAS to copy the files over locally. After 24 hours, only a third of the files have been copied :-(

Should I have used cp or mv or something else for faster performance or would it not make much difference because of the electronics in the DNS-323?

Thanks.

Re: File transfer to new hard drive has poor performance

I tried the same thing when moving from a 1.5 to a 2tb drive, rsync took forever, i ended up going with cp -R
