Ext2 Installable File System For Windows

Hope I'm not using up one of my dumb question chits...
If I installed that on Windows XP, would it allow me to see all directories/files on the DNS-323 via Windows Explorer GUI, or would I still only see /mnt/HD_a2 since it's connected via the network?

Well, got "brave" and loaded it, and it can't see the networked DNS-323 drives...
But, would this allow me to read the drives if I pulled them from the DNS-323 and put them in a USB enclosure and attached it to my Windows computer? If that's correct, I like the idea of having that option should something go wrong w/my DNS-323...

Yes, I think so.

Cool...I'll give it a shot when I have time...

Absolutely. I did it, hooked the DSN SATA drive to my PC hanging out the side and it works perfectly. So, if DSN were to fail, you can easily read the drives.

Excellent...thanks for sharing your results. That's what I was looking for, so I'd have a quick way to get to my data if something happened to the DNS itself. I have plenty of backups, but work under the theory that if it can go wrong, it probably will at some point.
