Harddisc starts every couple of minutes for no reason

Hi,

I installed funplug on my DNS-323 on harddisc and started the services for bittorrent, nfs and ssh.

The problem now is that the NAS starts the harddisc every couple of minutes (could be every hour once) for no reason, because the system isn't used via network. Actually, I don't know if this just started to happen after installing the funplug, because the device was in a cellar room and I didn't notic this.

Does someone know this problem and has a tip, how to prevent this?

Is there a cron job or something which is executed every hour or something?

Help would be highly appreciated!

All the best,
xeo

Re: Harddisc starts every couple of minutes for no reason

Have you installed Transmission as your bt? or the standard BT?

If you have Transmission and set up a watch folder then this is the reason why. as far as i know Funplug shouldn't be doing this.

Re: Harddisc starts every couple of minutes for no reason

As I know, I installed the standard BT ...

After googling a lot, it could be that syslog is to blame, since the syslogd writes "---mark---" in the syslog.

The problem, described above, should be solvable with an USB stick on which the syslog is saved.

But it's strange anyways, because this problem would have then more people than just me ...
