Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.
You are not logged in.
Hi,
I installed the latest SqueezeBoxServer from the extra-packages for fun-plug.
Additionally I followed the steps to create a mysql DB as described in the Wiki (sidney's blog).
mysql is running but NO Squeezecenter.
Tried to start with ./slimserver.sh start from /ffp/start/ but no visible result.
No logs are created (at least, I can't find them).
Any help is appreciated.
TIA,
JEns

Hi Fonz,
thanks for the hint. I can't see any logfiles in this directory.
I have set slimserver.sh to start automatically in /ffp/start/
When I restart the NAS I can only see the following entry in the ffp.log
###

Nothing else, no hint of a start failure of SqueezeboxServer.
Anything else that I can check?

What exactly does that mean? That you didn't install any perl modules?

I installed funplug 0.5
Then I followed the steps described in the DNS 323 wiki for ffp howto here:
"You can use the Squeezecenter packages from ffp-0.5 (needs some manual configuration, see Setting up SqueezeCenter on DNS-323 in Sidney's blog)"
That means I installed mysql and created a db, I downloaded all perl modules from 'extra-packages' and installed them with funpgk.
Last, I installed SqueezeBoxServer again from your 'extra-packages'
I now have squeezeboxserver under /ffp/etc and /ffp/lib and a slimserver.sh under /ffp/start
Now, when I execute slimserver.sh (./slimserver.sh start), nothing happens, I don' see any log file created and the telnet window does not give any output.
Are there any other ways to check what's wrong? Or should I run the whole installatoin procedure again?

Sure, run the commands from the start script manually. If no log files appear, I suspect that some file or directory permissions are wrong.

If you reinstall, I suggest you remove the slimserver package, manually remove any leftover files, i.e. /ffp/etc/squeezeboxserver and /ffp/lib/squeezeboxserver, and only then reinstall the package. This ensures that all files are installed with correct permissions.

OK,
I did a new install and now it works.
Don't know what I missed last time.
Thanks for your suppport.

Hi Jens
I have the exact same problem, but unfortunately, a slimserver reinstall as indicated above did not do the trick.
Everything else (mysql, perl) seems to be working just fine, but slimserver only starts up briefely, and then exits again.
No log files are created.
I suspect it is something to do with permissions, but as my linux knowledge is fairly limited, i'm not really sure on how to check this.
When you reinstalled, did you repeat the entire proces, or just the slimserver part ?
