Mediatomb v. Win7 (WMP12)

Hi all,

I have FFP 0.5 & Mediatomb 0.11.0.5 (the one with FFP).

From my PS3, everything works perfectly.

Recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate, and running WMP12 ... no joy.  I keep getting the error "The remote media library did not allow the connection.  Please contact the device manufacturer for more information."

Since I haven't played with Win7 that much, just wondering how to make this work correctly?

Using shares, I can see the directories and actually play MP3's from the NAS, so I know the connection is good.

Any thoughts?

Re: Mediatomb v. Win7 (WMP12)

Hi all,

I have quite the same problem.
With Windows Media Player on Windows 7 64bit, I can see and play video on mediatomb server. But when I choose Music, I have message :
The remote media library did not allow the connection.

And I have the same behavior on my LG BD390 player : I can read images and video, but it cannot play mp3 audio files.

I tried twonkymedia (version 5 trial) on my DNS-323 and I was able to read mp3 files. Unfortunetely, twonkymedia crashes my dns-323 after a few minutes. So I had to uninstall it.

Any ideas ?

Mediatomb should do the trick for you guys.

DNS323 + 2x1TB WD GREEN + Fun Plug 0.5 (Fonz) + Transmission 1.92 + Automatic 0.6 = GREAT!
Looking for Auto Direct Download script if possible smile

Well yeah.  That's why I got it up and running.

The problem is, when I attempt to open MediaTomb->Music from WMP12, it gives me the error:
"The remote media library did not allow the connection.  Please contact the device manufacturer for more information."

When I open MediaTomb->Videos from WMP12, I get all the video names, however, the length for all is 0 seconds, and I cannot open the movies.

When I select MediaTomb-Pictures (w/ WMP12), I can see  all the file names, but yet again, I cannot open anything from WMP12.

I have Volume_1 mapped, and I can open all of the files (not through MediaTomb), and they all work good.  Also, from my PS3, I can play music, videos, and view pictures, so I know that MediaTomb is working.
