folder rights (transmission) - files cannot be removed

Hi.
I have most annoying problem.

files downloaded with Transmission cannot be moved or deleted in windows environment. Doesnt matter what user access i have. got error: "make sure disk is not full or write protected and the file is not currently in use".  transmission download is completed, stopped and torrents are removed.

folder "transmission-downloads" is operating ok.  I can add files and folders to it and delete folders or files I added. Only items I cannot change are items downloaded with transmission.

downloaded folder access information is:  drwxr-xr-x    3 nobody   501

so i guess transmission will set folder right for downloaded materials... can i change those rights by default?

any feedback is welcome.

Re: folder rights (transmission) - files cannot be removed

... well, like it always happens...
I found answer to my problem from that  link:
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/archi … 62-94.html

(07-24-2009 05:06 PM)M4rtijn Wrote: [ -> ]To solve the directory permission issue:

In /share/Apps/Transmission/.transmission/settings.json there is a new parameter "umask".
This parameter is set by default to the decimal value of 18, which is 022 in octal.
Stop Transmission, then change this value to 0 and restart Transmission.

All newly started torrents will now have full permissions: drwxrwxrwx

...and thats it ... problem solved. smile

Thanks Manager2

I was also having this problem and having to telnet and chmod the files in order to manager them in Windows.

Cheers
