Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

KyleK, I'm using the previous version of transmission on my 323 but forgot which version, I tried as your guide to remove the previous version but it just give me "not installed". How to know which version is on my 323?

Thanks.

[EDITED]

Duh! just noticed the signature of mine...so I guess I just need to change

this:
funpkg -r Transmission-1.22-ffp0.5.tg

to this:
funpkg -r Transmission-1.52-ffp0.5.tg

is this correct?

Oh, I hope KyleK get online soon. Link is dead probably because you host them on your home server?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hello all,

I have dns 323 with funplug and transmission installed but almost since the begging I have a problem SEEDING (already upgraded to several versions and the problem persists.)

After some hours of use, the transmission web interface says that I'm downloading at "MB/s", for example now it says that my download is "128.8 MB/s" and upload is "32.1 MB/s" and the websites that I'm downloading from (ex: blackcats, torrentsforall,...) dont detect any download or upload.

When I restart the transmission, they detect the downloads and uploads for a while, but after some hours (like 3 i think) it stops again.

This is making crazy and my ratio on the websites is getting down and probablly gonna get banned sad

Extra Notes:
You can see what I describe in the attached file:
- router config
- transmission config
- transmission saying the speed and that the torrents are downloading and uploading
- torrent website not detecting any upload or download (this happens in any website, this one is only an example).

Please help me out.

Tjls

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Do you have the required port open on your router to share?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Does anyone have issues when downloading torrents that contain folders?

I found that when I download a folder, the contents of the folder do not get the appropriate permissions and as a result, i cannot delete the contents though the network file share, but instead, i have to go in and update the permissions first.

Is this a bug?

Thanks,

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi,

I have translated transmission web files (stored in /ffp/share/transmission/web/..." in French.

Is there a way to share my work for french users of this great BT client ?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi,

I have the same issue as cybernauta with transmission seeding torrents unnoticed to the tracker several hours after restarting it (around 24 hrs). Just upgraded to 1.76 to check if it helps or not. Does anybody have the same issue as we are?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Transmission 1.80 is up and running, download as always from the first post.

This version brings quite a lot of new features, I'll update the changelog later today.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Thanks again KyleK! Have 1.80 up and running.

The web interface has changed a lot. You have to refresh the interface to make it all work correct (hit Ctrl+R). When files from the cache in your browser are used, the interface is not working correctly.

Little suggestion for the installation steps: add '/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/start/transmission.sh stop' at the beginning.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

KyleK
First of all - thank you for supporting us with new versions.

I found some bug in this version:
If I write in settings.json

Code:

"watch-dir": "\/mnt\/HD_a2\/www\/pages\/torrents",
"watch-dir-enabled": true

transmission crashes while starting with message in transmission-daemon.log:

Code:

/ffp/bin/transmission-daemon: can't resolve symbol 'inotify_init'

In older versions this params works fine.
Is that bug of transmission or only compilation parameters mismatch?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi,

It's been a while but I came and had a browse yesterday and saw transmission up to 1.80, thanks Kyle for keeping so up to date (was running 1.75 which ran without issue).

After browsing the change log on the Transmission Wiki I installed as per Kyles guide (changing 1.22 to 1.75 in the name for removing transmission).  All the other components (Curl and UlibC) were the latest already.

I am also getting the same error as Isildur with a watch directory set.  Disabling the watch directory in the settings file caused the error to disappear.

Unfortunately the watch directory was one of the main things I use.

I haven't seen any issues reported in the Transmission Wiki forums regarding this error which leads me to believe it is either an issue with the DNS-323 environment or compilation.

Any ideas ?

Cheers
RB

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

I even see 1.82 now.

Is the bugfix in 1.82 (announce did not contain the port number ) related to lower speeds I'm experiencing?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Regarding the watchfolder issue: I experimented with integrating inotify support, but this should not be in these release packages at all. I'll have to investigate. I will let you guys know once I know more.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

@Isildur, @RimBlock:
I've updated Transmission to 1.82-2 and fixed the segfault when a watchfolder was specified. Let me know if it still crashes for you.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

I hope you guys can help me out.. I upgraded from 1.80 to 1.82 and now Transmission won't start.  Everything was working fine until the 1.82 update.
Here is what I have done so far
1.  funpkg -u Transmission-1.82-2.tgz
2.  Reboot NAS
3.  Tried to connect to 192.168.1.107:9091 and I get "Web page cannot be displayed"

I tried to reinstall Transmission with funpkg -r and then funpkg -i with no luck

ffp.log shows the following:
/ffp/start/transmission.sh ...
Starting transmission-daemon*

the transmission-daemon.log is empty

Any ideas what I should look at?
