File transfert issue

Hi All,

I am new on this forum and on the DSN-323 hardware.
I so like those d-link devices and had a DSM-g600 before.

I installed my new DNS-323 but I have a problem.
When I transfert a file that is bigger that around 500mb the connection always drops in the middle of the file.

The services that are enabled are : Torrent, DLNA, iTunes.

Does anybody know anything about that ?

Thank you in advance.

Re: File transfert issue

Tell us about your network - is a wireless link being used?

Re: File transfert issue

Hi Fordem,

Yes I am using a wireless link. I will try with a wire. I do think that it is a software issue because firstly I had the LLAD (Vista's protocol) activated and I had the problem more often. Since I disabled it it seems that I have the problem only for big transfer. I also have a different error.

I will send you screenshot later on. In the mean time any ideas are welcome ;-)

Re: File transfert issue

It's been my experience that networks, both wired & wireless, will drop the connection in "mid transfer" with large files, when the network itself has problems that lead to retransmits.

I first experienced this with wireless and before I had my DNS-323 and tracked the problem down to an incompatability between the wireless card and the access point, however, any problem that results in a corrupt data packet being transmitted will cause the same symptom.

Re: File transfert issue

I am not sure I could have that kind of problem as my access point is an airport express and I have a mac... I hope not at least.

I will see back home tonight if I have better results with wired network

Re: File transfert issue

Hi,
Something new here. It does the same thing on the wired network. If I want to read a tv show (or movie) from my PS3 after sometime (random) I get disconnected.

Any other idea ?

Thanks

Re: File transfert issue

Hi Guys,

I think I found the source of my problem. Apparently it was an IP problem with my DHCP.
It seems to work fine now. Ill finally will be able to enjoy my DNS-323 ;-)

Thank you anyway
