Unable to access 323 via sftp

Hi,
I am struggling to get this right.
Whenever I try to sftp my dlink 323,

[sam@sony ~]$ sftp nas
Connecting to nas...
ssh: connect to host nas port 22: Connection refused
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer

I have started a new service named "nas" in my Netgear router for the Dlink 323 with the port 21.
Despite that it still gives me the same message.
Any advice, please

Re: Unable to access 323 via sftp

don't you have to use a username?  Can you sftp to the NAS using a SFTP client like FileZilla? (I know that you are trying to do it now from another linux box).

I have had success using sftp to my NAS using both FileZilla and WinSCP.

Re: Unable to access 323 via sftp

you need to run sshd for sftp. and it's not port 21.

Re: Unable to access 323 via sftp

As fonz pointed out, the port should be forwarded to port 22 (unless you have sshd set to a different port).

Are you able to login into ssh normally without sftp?
