Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

telnet speed

quick question... how fast can I expect the dns323 to copy files from one hard drive to the other using telnet?

I am currently using the schedule download to copy from one to the other... so I think its using the dns323 to copy the files.

I am getting approx 25 MB/s . Reading from a 7200rpm seagate harddisk to a 5400rpm wd hard disk.

So I have \\localhost\Volume_2\etc as my Download URL, and saving to Volume_1/etc

Is the data still going through the router and ethernet cables (therefore why its slow)?

Its a big task as I am moving 750gb this time to a 1.5tb drive, so I think it will take quite a while. Would using telnet transfer at almost 3Gb/s (375MB/s) therefore almost 10x the speed?

I dont have fun plug installed as my dns323 is currently stock with upgraded firmware (because I dont know any linux).

Is it hard to learn to install and copy if I am a total linux beginner?

Re: telnet speed

20 - 40 MByte/s, dns323 read limit from HD

It is easy to install funplug
