Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I recently upgraded my DNS-323 to the 1.08 firmware (Rev B1) and then configured all my CIFS shares. I then discovered that NFS support was added in the newer firmware but in the Network Access tab the NFS button selection appears to be missing for some reason. Has the NFS feature been removed or something?
Cheers,
Richard.

Has anyone else got NFS options with 1.08 (Rev B1) firmware?

If I'm not mistaken - NFS support comes as an APKG and has to be installed.

Ok it looks like I had to install the additional addon package from the Dlink ftp site (obviously!). Don't know why its not documented anywhere.
Anyways I have now set up an NFS share as follows :
192.168.1.0/24 Volume_1
Real path: /mnt/HD_a2
Read/Write
Root squash - yes
From my Windows 7 (Ultimate) system I have enabled the NFS client and I can see the NFS share using showmount :
c:\>showmount -e nas
Exports list on nas:
/mnt/HD_a2 192.168.1.0/24
But if I try to mount the NFS share I get an Error - 53 :
c:\>mount \\nas\Volume_1 N:
Password:
Network Error - 53
Type 'NET HELPMSG 53' for more information.
I have tried using the -u:<username> option also but I'm not sure what username/password it would use as it doesn't allow you to select
a username as with the SMB inferface.
So how is this stuff supposed to work? What username is needed? Has anyone managed to get NFS shares mounted from Windows?
Thanks,
Richard.

I too have tried to mount NFS shares with Windows 7 ultimate. I used the NFS server with fun_plug and had similar errors mounting in windows. Best I could get was a solid connection, even showed up with 'mount' on windows, but the moment I tried to browse to the new mount it would lock up windows explorer... I have not been able to find any answers searching online about how to fix this and have thus given up on mounting NFS with Windows 7 Ultimate... Too bad for sure! At least Samba works....

Thanks caust1c. But how did you get past the errors and get it to mount in the end?
