Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

You are not logged in.

Total newbie needs help, can't get ASH working

I followed the fun-plug instructions as per this on my dns-323
http://nas-tweaks.net/CH3SNAS:Tutorials/fun_plug

After I rebooted I could see that the fun_plug tarball was processed, the ffp directory was created, and the log was where it should be.  I can login as root but then the ash shell seems to die.  After I've logged in as root I don't get any prompt and it seems to swallow commands, anything I enter gets no reaction, as you can see in the screenshot:

Thanks for any help!

Why? Stupidity, apparently, and the naive expectation of being asked to sign in upon connecting.  Thanks for the help, it all works now, though it doesn't ask me to log in.

Re: Total newbie needs help, can't get ASH working

So how did you solve it? I probably have the same problem:

================================================
vi-tech@vi-tech-laptop:~$ ssh -l root  192.168.1.5
root@192.168.1.5's password:

BusyBox v1.00-pre1 (2009.05.07-06:36+0000) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

=============================================

And no command prompt. It just kind of hangs at this point.
I have no problem executing  "ssh -l root 192.168.1.5 ash" though,
but I get awkward shell, with no prompt symbol and weird interface that doesn't work as it should.

Re: Total newbie needs help, can't get ASH working

Ash is a pretty limited shell AFAIK... I would change the default shell to bash which offers a lot more fucntionality and is not only easier to use, but most of the information provided on the wiki is based around the bash shell.
