DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

Hi Forum.

I've tried to search the forum for a potential solution but not able to do so.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently running firmware 1.08 on my DNS323.

I was following the instructions as per: http://dns323.kood.org/howto:1st_steps

I got to Step 4. and did the following:

$ mkdir fp; cd fp
$ wget http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0.5/fun_plug ; chmod 777 fun_plug
$ wget http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0.5/fun_plug.tgz ; chmod 777 fun_plug.tgz

Next step was to use ftp to put the 2 files into Volume_1.

First problem encountered: ftp command doesn't work for me.  I got an error message that command was not valid.

Anyhow, I manually copied the 2 files to /mnt/HD_a2/ and rebooted the DNS box - now I'm not able to telnet to the box anymore - "Network error - connection refused".

I checked the ffp.log and here's the entries;

From the log, it looks like installation didn't go thru.

Please provide help on what was wrong with the installation (Is it a permission issue)?  And also how I can telnet to the box to rerun steps?
