Hi Guys,
Had an issue with my DNS323 for a few months now.
It will just lock up for no reason. Can ping it, but cannot browse to it, FTP to it or access the http web admin page.
The only way to get it working again, is to pull the power and plug it back in. The front button won't turn it off.
I've had a look at the common problems wiki page here
http://dns323.kood.org/information:known_issues
Tried the fixes/workarounds under the Vista/shares section but it doesn't make any difference. It locks up under Vista, Win 7, Ubuntu 9.04, OSX...
Sometimes it will even lock up mid way through playing a movie. Used different ethernet cables, different switch, turned jumbo packets off/on etc but still does it.
I'm using firmware 1.0.7
Has anyone come across a similar issue?
It doesn't feel like the unit is overheating, and seemingly the lockups occur at random. There is no pattern.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Cheers,
Cam

Yeah I've actually had the same issue, and have had to pull the plug a few times. I pulled the drives out, and restored it to factory settings and I haven't had a problem since.
If transmission.sh is running, the unit will not power down or reboot. I have to ssh in every time and stop transmission.sh I think that was the root of all my problems.
Good luck
