Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Re: Compiled & working: Mediatomb!

Hi,

First of all thank you for this version of mediatomb it works great.. second are you still working on this new version?

I just installed funplug 05, but the mediatomb packaged with funplug has no js support.

If you are going to update your packaged, could you make it compatible with the funplug structure?

I tried to copy the binaries and libraries to the /ffp directories and exported the lib LD_LIBRARY_PATH= but I got this error..

/ffp/bin/mediatomb: can't resolve symbol '_dl_app_init_array'

Back to using your version....

p.s. in this wiki: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_MediaTomb# … _3_Support they show howto configure thumbnail support, you need a tool called ffmpegthumbnailer maybe you could have a look, and compile this tool also..

Re: Compiled & working: Mediatomb!

Is there any way to run mediatomb v0.11.0 and above on DNS-323 with fun_plug v0.3?

It's not an easy way to me to upgrade to fun_plug v0.5 because I have too many resources on it (HP 1000w host-based printer server, torrent client, ftp server, backup services, etc. and everything is working well). I'd like to use mediatomb with transcoding feature because my Freecom MusicPal can't play .ogg or .aac streams.

I tried out temporarily mediatomb v0.12 with fun_plug v0.5 and worked well, but I had to put the old system back. I can't find mediatomb >v0.11, oggdec/ogg123, etc. that could run on this device with fun_plug v0.3. The compiled optware way would be nice for example...

Has somebody any ideas?

Mod.: I've tried mediatomb-static-0.11.0-r1-linux-uclibc-armv4.tar.gz downloaded from http://mediatomb.cc/pages/download#optware but I had problems. I could reach web configuration, but UPnP didn't response. When I pressed CTRL-C, mediatomb said "killing" and wait... CTRL-C again, and said "can't stop sending killing signal again", etc... so it has freezed...

Re: Compiled & working: Mediatomb!

Does anyone have another link, or can upload the compiled package to another site? I tried downloading and the link isn't downloading for me. I had it running before, but I bought 2 new WD 1.5TB drives and want to reinstall mediatomb, just need the package. Thanks to whoever uploads it.

Hi All,

I've compiled mediatomb for the dns-323 so I can now watch divx/xvid files on my PS3 and can get away from the rather poor twonky support!

Versions of packages compiled:

  mediatomb (svn revision 1634)
  libmagic-4.21
  libexif-0.6.16
  libiconv-1.11
  mediatomb-0.10.0
  sqlite-3.5.4
  id3lib-3.8.3
  zlib-1.2.3
spidermonkey (latest cvs as of 17/01/08)
  curl-7.17.1

To Install:

  - Get the tarball from http://www.mediafire.com/?3ndu9sdn3z1
  - extract the file in /mnt/HD_a2
  - cd /mnt/HD_a2/mediatomb/bin
  - LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/mnt/HD_a2/mediatomb/lib; export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  - run ./mediatomb -d -e egiga0 -m /mnt/HD_a2/mediatomb

The config file included in the tarball is configured for a PS3, you may need to change the config file located at /mnt/HD_a2/mediatomb/.mediatomb/config.xml in accordance with the mediatomb website if the config doesn't work for your client. Then visit the web setup page - the mediatomb binary tells you the port when you run it, it should be something along the lines of http://192.168.1.1:49152.

Hello,

Is this topic thread still active? Initially it was on 2007 which is 3 yrs back. Is the initiator "Haydnh" still available to provide some advice to me please?

This above points guide seems need to be done via telnet session to DNS-323, am I right?

Some forums said, DNS-323 by default doesnt come with Telnet-accessible, may I know how you would advise me on how to run those steps command please? I've just got my DNS-323 and I've noticed its firmware is 1.07 which is 2009... soon I'm going to upgrade it to 1.08 which dated 10 Mar 2010 from DNS Support website.

I've not tested whether my DNS-323 comes with Telnet-accessible yet.

Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

Best Regards, Arc.
