Bandwidth Usage app

My stupid ISP enforces a monthly data cap. Is there any app for DNS-323 which can be used for monitoring daily/monthly bandwidth usage. It would be nice if it had the ability to monitor only internet usage and not count the local pc<->nas transfers.

I currently have FW1.08 and both  ffp, ipkg installed.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Bandwidth Usage app

You do realise that the DNS-323 would be unable to monitor the internet usage of any other device but itself, don't you - the best place to monitor and/or control internet usage is at the internet gateway - the router/firewall.

Re: Bandwidth Usage app

Yeah i realize that, but right now DNS-323 is doing all the heaving lifting. It's running http and ftp server which can be accessed from the internet plus it has the transmission client which i am using for all my torrenting right now.

All the other PC's internet bandwidth usage is limited to regular browsing/e-mailing etc.

Right now the router i have is a d-link dir-655 and it doesnt support any 3rd party firmwares.

Re: Bandwidth Usage app

Maybe you can use iptables

There is an optware build for it.
