I have a DSM-G600 Rev B and a PS3 Slim and 2 PSP's. I'd like to set the DSM-G600 up as a media server for the PS3 and a web site to download video and music file to my PSP's over wireless. I know the PSP's can download file over wireless if it's set to be a web site and not ftp. I'm not sure about how to first thing about getting this project started so I thought I'd ask here first since it's the only device I have that could do this.

I recently put MediaTomb on my DSM-G600 as media server. Apparently it works for PS3. I haven't tried it since I don't have a PS3 yet. But you can give that a try.
First you need to fun_plug your DSM-G600.

Then you need to enable telnet

Then you need to download the static ppc binary for mediatomb

The instructions are for ch3wnas but they also work for the DSM-G600. From what I understand they use the same architecture. Or something like that. You will see in the cfg file there is something you need to uncomment to make it work with the PS3.

There is also ushare that will probably work with the ps3. Right now in the download section there is only an old version of ushare that is built for ppc. I'm trying to compile the latest version to have XBox360 compatibility but right now I'm having troubles just compiling the toolchain. If I ever get it compiled, I'll post it here.

Thank You this info should help out some. I'll have to give it a try sometime and let you know the results. Not sure when I'll get around to it since I have a lot going on with the ps3 gaming and all the things that I need to take care of around the house.

well I tried to get mediatomb installed and working but I could not get logged in with telnet even with following the instructions. I keep getting connection refused when I try to telnet into my dsm-g600. My iMac is running Mac OS X 10.6.3 I also have an app called iTerm as well as access to the built in terminal.

try to add just this to your fun_plug and restart
