Hello all,
I purchased a 323 today and much to my current chagrin two WD20EARS (2TB, 64mb cache). It was only after purchasing these drives that I realized unsupported nature. I realize work-arounds have been developed for these drives and their 4k AFT systems but I am not particularly versed in linux and frankly a bit concerned about the long term reliability of these drives in a system that is fundamentally incompatible with them.
That being said, if i were to grab a few of the WD20EADS (2TB, 32mb cache) would these drives be more amenable to runnning in a raid 1 setup? Are there additional challenges to using 2TB drives in these NAS's?
Thanks much for your time and consideration
JIMSY

The popular consensus on the d-link forums seems to be that people have had issues with performance and degradation of raid 1. Do you have personal experience using wd20ears'?

not inside a dns-323. but i know how these drives work and it is highly unlikely this will have an impact on a dns-323. just to say, the performance of the dns-323 isnt great anyways and raid degregation can always happen (just search the forums a bit)
