Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Why does transmission redownloads COMPLETED files whenever i turn-off/reset or an unexpected shutdown (power loss) occurred on my nas?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Transmission 1.9.3 seemed to have fixed my watch-dir crash problem (see a couple of posts back) so I'm happy!. But it seems I get some "Tracker did not respond" errors for Demonoid.com's torrents. Don't know if this has anything to do with Transmission tough.

Don't ask me, that's a question for the Transmission devteam: www.transmissionbt.com

I've been trying to get on the Demonoid invite page for the last 6 weeks or so but always get a completely blank page (HTTP error 500: bad something).
From this I'd say your tracker timeouts are a problem on the tracker side, not in Transmission.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

I don't think so because after a reboot of the NAS, the tracker is replying again. Don't know what was wrong but everything (finally) works like a charm now!

You sure its redownloading, and not just rechecking?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi,

I have installed the Transmission 1.93 on my Planex Nas which I tuned with the Funplug. It works but I have all the time the error message that the tracker did not respond. Must I change something in the .json file? I dont know what kind of setiings i should set. I would be glad when anybody could help me.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

hi, I got a problem, am new to this..  I just got ffp on my DNS-323 and then installed Transmission.. the version link that Kylek has in the front page ( curl-7.18.1, uclibc-0.9.29-7, Transmission-1.93-2)

everything is fine, until I start to download. The web interface shows the problem that it does not have permissin to /hom/nobody/Downloads.

I modified the file settings.json and put torrent and tmptorrent as the download and incomplete download directories and set the incomplete dir to true.

I also make nobody the owner of those folders.  But it is still trying to download the files in the default directory?  Is this a bug?  What could I have done wrong?

Thanks!

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Did you quit Transmission before changing settings.json? If not, Transmission will overwrite your changes with the default once you restart it (e.g. because of a NAS reboot).

Is the Planex NAS compatible with current funplug builds? Since Transmission uses some funplug libraries but also some others, it might not be fully compatible.

Try downloading a well-seeded torrent, like the Ubuntu ISO or OpenOffice. These are (almost) guaranteed to work and download very fast.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

I have a small problem... when I try to add a torrent remotely connecting via Transmission Remote GUI the torrent is actually added but it doesn't download (stuck at 0%)
Then when I open up the interface locally it starts... kinda weird don't you think?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Also one small remark: In the dir where I download the torrents, there are folders with the drwxr-xr-x attributes and others with the drwxrwxrwx attributes. Why would this happen??

Hi Kylek,

the funplug should work with Planex. Here is the link http://tungchingkai.blogspot.com/2008/1 … ding.html. I made an mistake so I couldn't into the internet also I will try to reinstall it in the next Days. Could you take a look on my link so that I can be sure that the Transmission is working with the Planex. So I could save a lot of time with testing it.

I have (almost) the same problem. Torrents that I remove from the web interface (trash data & remove torrent), are re-added on retart of transmission (using /ffp/start/transmission restart).

Anone able to solve this one?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi Opperpanter,

it's easy to solve this problem. Just only remove the torrent files from Your Watch directory, because transmission doesn't need it anymore after the torrent were started.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi Kylek,

I have a problem. I would like to upgrade from 1.92 to 1.93 now. I tryed to stop transmission with transmission.sh, and on the screen appeared "Stopping transmission-daemon" but didn't stop it. (I checked with top command). I killed the process manually with "kill -9 pid" command. OK. I upgraded to 1.93, and tryed to start the daemon, but I can only see "Starting transmission-daemon" but doesn't starts really the daemon. What I'm doing wrong?

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Anyone else having memory problems as well? After a while I have like 8 tranmission processes running, each consuming ~31% Memory, causing major swapping. And that's with *no* torrents in the list. Probably a transmission problem, just checking for other to have the same issue.

Hm. My current version of Transmission has been running for about 2 weeks. It has handled 15 torrents since then, but mostly there've been 2-3 active torrents (either downloading or seeding).

I just now also had a memory usage of 33%. I'd wager this is mostly because of the peer caches and DHT/PEX.

But, the fact that you had no torrents loaded at all is indeed worrying. Nevertheless, this is something for the Transmission guys.

Could you please file a bug at http://trac.transmissionbt.com?

Hi Opperpanter,

I had similar case, when transmission didn't stop well, before I upgraded or reinstalled it to the newer version. Stop transmission, if transmission daemon doesn't stops, than kill the remaining transmission processes, if all of them are stopped, than reinstall the actual version, and it will work fine.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Here you go, the first page has been updated since Transmission v2.0 is now available.

An excerpt from the release notes is on the first page as well, here's the full deal: https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Changes

Please note that the transmission-remote commands/options system has been overhauled. It now works a bit different then in earlier versions.
