DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

Hi all,

Just got my DNS-323 the other day, and I'm in the process of setting it up/fiddling with it now.
Thought I'd sign up here (as there seems to be all sorts of useful info here) and pass on my observations trying to get my fun_plug installed.

I have 2 disks - a Samsung 250Gb and a Maxtor 160Gb (both taken from my PC from an upgrade), and in trying to install them as two seperate disks (so the DNS-323 would show two Volumes), I couldn't for love nor money get the fun_plug to work. In fidding about with it, I discovered (on my box at least), I can only get the fun_plug to play if there is only one disk installed, or both disks are shown as one volume (so RAIDed or JBODed). As soon as there are two volumes present, it doesn't work (I tried a number of ways as well - fun_plugging with one disk installed, then putting the second one in; putting both disks in before trying it; etc).

I'm not sure if this has been seen before (I did a fair bit of searching in the forum here mind!), but if not, and anyone else is having the same issue, then try configuring both disks as JBOD of RAID.

Oh, and I'm on firmware 1.03 (UK)

Right, now I've got that working, I'm off to fiddle some more
