Queue system for Transmission

I've Just started with my DNS323 this weekend and so far I have installed ffp and transmission for bittorrent. I intended to run transmission 24/7 and use the web gui, however I notice transmission doesn't support a queue (eg: having 10 torrents in the list but making sure you are only downloading 4 at a time)

Some googling found the following post with a script that performs a queue function. It isn't written for the DNS323 so I have edited it with the proper paths. http://www.4geeksfromnet.com/2010/02/ho … ssion.html

My question is: how should I properly get this script to run every 5 minutes? I know that I can use crontab to do this but is it ok to use root's crontab to run this script?
