D-Links NFS (Addon) vs. Fonz NFS

Hi,

as I face some of the temporary problems with the official D-Link NFS addon (disappearing folders, mounting not possible, NAS not waking up when attempting to access NFS-share), I would like to ask here if the FFP-version from fonz is more realiable than the D-link addon serving to an Ubuntu 10.4 client.

I consider to replace it with the fonz version if it works better, but I would of course like to know what I can expect from the unofficial version in comparison to the D-Link.

What is your experience and recommendation?

Re: D-Links NFS (Addon) vs. Fonz NFS

The (user space nfs) unfs fonz version is not so stable I got alot of 'stale nfs handles' when mounted in U.

There exists a fonz modiefied version of the dns firmware which supports kernel nfs. This is what I am running now. It is very stable no problem at all.
However the firmware is a modified dns-version 1.04 and I think it only works on Rev B hardware. There exists info on the dns wiki.
