DNS 323 firmware 1.5 and 1.9 question about scandisk and "degraded"drv

I was running firmware 1.05 with twin 1T drives in RAID1 mode.

I noticed one day that my drive status was "degraded".  Both drive LEDs were blue.

Since there was no resync controls in 1.05 I upgraded to 1.09.  (yes, I backed up everything to another drive first).

I clicked manual resync, and let it run over night.  In the morning, the browser was back on the admin login screen.  No indication of what the result of the resync was.

I checked the STATUS and it still shows "degraded".  I went to TOOLS/DISK_TOOLS and pressed SCANDISK.  That was a few hours ago.

How long does Scandisk take?

Will it record the results someplace?  I installed funplug so I can telnet in and get at any file.

I also just noticed that both drive LEDS are still blue!

If one of the drives is toast, it would be nice to know which one!

Thanks in advance, any input greatly appreciated!

Don't you mean you updated your DNS-323 firmware from v1.05 to v1.09?  I just bought my DNS-323 and it's only v1.07... or do you have a DNS-321?

Re: DNS 323 firmware 1.5 and 1.9 question about scandisk and "degraded"drv

I "solved" this by cycling power to the 323.

It re-booted, tried to re-sync the drives.  After it gave up, the STATUS screen showed the LEFT drive info as blank.

I powered down, pulled that one out, and used SEATOOLS to discover and fix a bad sector.
