Hi
I upgraded my DNS-323 with 2 Samsung Ecogreen 2Tb (HD203WI) and also updated my Firmware from 1.05 to 1.08.
Before i used Ext2 because it was the only option, but now its possible to use Ext3.
I also know that Ext3 was disabled in earlier Firmware because of corrupted data.
My question, which is the best filesystem to use ? (Have they fixed the problems with ext3 ???)
I prefer safety before performance (use it for backup)

Ok i red about someone got corrupted data on Ext3 in FW 1.01 so i was a little bit worried about that, dont want to loose data.
But which filesystem is to prefere if you use your NAS for backup storage ?

As I know:
Ext2 a bit faster
Ext3 has a journaling to prevent data loss.

As I recall it - ext3 was disabled because of data corruption issues, which have since been fixed.

..so what did you choose micro?
the setup info tells that ext2 has best performance and ext3 is most stable.
I chose ext3 now because I can hardly imagine that the file system would cause any more performance drop (my best values so far are around 10-15mbs reading/writing from/to network share on the nas)

I choosed Ext3 because i want stable system before performance. And i also got around 10-15mb/s
I hope they fixed all problems they had with Ext3 in earlier firmwares.
