I am in the process of purchasing a Netgear EVA 8000 Digital Entertainer, does any one have an eva 8000 working seamlessly with the DNS 323. I have been one the early adopters of the Netgear SC101 a product that has been nothing but trouble not working directly with the eva 8000 or with my Vista computers. I am hopeful that the DNS 323 is the silver bullet.

Yip thanks have read it. The only problem there is that none of them have bought all the kit yet and full tested it.
cheers

I need you to receive it and post your results...I've been thinking about it as well, but was hoping to read of someone else's success first.
I'm willing to bet a nickel (albeit your nickel) that it will work fine, via either unpnp or (more likely) SMB... ![]()

Just noticed this in a review on Smallnetbuilder on the EVA8000...
"Whereas the EVA700 relied on a UPnP AV server for getting content, the EVA8000 was using shared network drives. The EVA8000 supports UPnP AV servers, but according to the documentation, using network disks is the preferred method of serving content. One step in getting the device configured is telling it to scan and index the chosen network drives for content."
Review is here: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/29997/80/
Sounds like there should be no problems using the two together...has yours arrived and how are things going?
I cancelled an order for the EVA8000 as I just heard that Dlink has announced the DSM-750, and want to find out a little more about it before I pull the trigger....
