I have had my DNS-323 without any (major) problems for two years. Suddenly my network refuses to work when my 323 is attached. I have Windows 7, a netgear router fvs114. When I detach my 323 the network start to work again. I have logged in to my router from my PC, but lose contact with it when the 323 is attached. All three lights on the 323 box have the right blue colour. I've shut down and restarted the 323 as well as the router. Last spring I installed a Twonky media server on the NAS. Please help an old man!

When you attach the DNS-323 to the network, what do you see the network light on the DNS-323 doing?

You'll need to be more specific. What, exactly, does "network refuses to work" mean? What were you able to do before and now can't?

Based on the very limited information you supplied, it *could* be an IP conflict between one of your systems or router and the DNS323??

Like FunFiler said my first guess would be an IP conflict, but it could also be that the DNS-323's DHCP server got turned on and is conflicting with the one on your router.

Thanks all! Additional information: After attaching the NAS, the light on the router that indicates speed turns yellow. The network on the 323 lamp is mostely dark blue, occasionally flashing with the right blue colour. When installing the NAS two years ago, we reserved a static ip-address for the DNS-323.

I would suggest that you do a reset on the DNS323 using the reset button (pin hole on the back). It won't erase the files on the drives but you will have to enter your configuration information again.
Look in the manual to see what "yellow" means for your router. Try a different network cable, particularly if you are not using the one supplied with the DNS323.
What do you mean when you say you reserved a static ip? Did you set this in the DNS323 or did you set it in your DHCP server? In either case, it could still be an ip address conflict. I prefer static ip addresses for most of my devices, but you need to ensure it is set to an address outside the range of yout DHCP server.

Thanks all, I solved my issue by replacing my router, so now I can enjoy the content on my DNS-323 again....
