HELP! Adjust fan speed during fsck manually?

I am using the fsck package here: http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fsck/

And the README says that fsck does not adjust fan speed manually.  It gives a way to check it and change it:

WARNING: The fsck image does not include a fan controller!
You can set fan speed manually, e.g.:
    echo 150 >/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-003e/pwm1
  and read current speed with:
    cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-003e/fan1_input
  (100 in pwm1 = 3150 rpm, 150 in pwm1 = 4650 rpm)
You can read the current temperature with:
    cat /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0048/temp1_input

But there is no /i2c-0/ folder in i2c-adapter/!!!  And now fsck is running.  I hear the fans going like crazy, but if they stop I would like to know how to turn them up, or at least check the temp.  Does anyone know why this directory isn't there?  Is there another way to change the fan speed??  Keep in mind the ./reload.sh reboots the DNS323 to custom Linux Kernel so fanspeed g doesn't work.

Any ideas?? (fsck is still running, 5%)  ahhhhh
