Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

find changed static ip

Hi.  My router was getting flaky, and so I replaced.    I went from a Linksys to a Buffalo  so 192.168.1.abc    to 192.168.11.abc     for static ips.

The computer - I went into  /etc/ network/interfaces and made the adjustments.  All went well.

I used my netbook to ssh into the DNS-323 via the old router and thought I updated  the funplug install via nano   on  /etc/local_network to 192.168.11.99   from 192.168.1.199 and was seeing it via the old router  . I might have made a typo in the static ip

I am not able to ssh root@192.168.11.abc    into DNS-323 or ping  via new or old router.

I also updated the Buffalo DD-WRTvia its web-admin with the static ip of computer and DNS-323

Any elegant ideas about how to fish out the correct static ip.  I could retry with old router and netbook;  go straight from netbook to DNS-323  ;        take a paper-clip to reset to default settings on the DNS-323;          install nmap or some other linux network utility??      I know, it is something obvious.

TIA  Mark

Re: find changed static ip

Connect de NAS directly to your PC, let Wireshark monitor the NIC, and boot the NAS. In most cases you can sift the ip address by looking at the traffic.
