What kind of speeds do you all get from your DNS-323 over the network? Right now I am getting a sustained 1.2 MB/sec but I think the highest I have gotten is around 2.5 MB/sec. Seems kind of slow to me.
Thanks

How are you measuring. Comparing my speed, your speed and Joe's speed will all vary depending on how we are each measuring (end-to-end, benchmark on the DNS, benchmark on the PC, etc).
I use iStat (a widget for the Mac OSX dashboard) and it shows about 21MB/s when I am WIRED to the router with Cat6. On Wireless (N) using a DIR-685 router I am getting close to 5MB/s.

I am just copying files with windows 7 and seeing what speed windows 7 tells me I am getting. I don't think I have ever gotten even close to 21 MB/sec even when over a wired connection.

Without knowing the details of the network, any discussion on network throughput becomes meaningless - would it help you any if I said I get between 2.5KB/sec to 25KB/sec?

2.5KB/sec is over wireless(g), 25KB/sec is gigabit with jumbo frame.
Testing done with a 2GB file using a utility called NASTester - search the forum - you'll find a link to it.

I just did a quick test... I got about 28mbps connected through a cheap 10/100 switch with cat5 (very old) and cat5e (new) cables.
That's mbps as in mega bits per second... Which means 28 mbps = 3.5 MB/s.
The switch is cheap and the cabling is poor, so I'm getting what I expected...
