Problem with fancontrol script

Hello everybody,

I recently get a DNS 323...quite happy with it, but as I was a bit boared by the noise of the FAN that seems to be always at the max speed I've tried to installed FONZ fun_plug and the fancontrol script...I think i did everything right but when I rebooted the DNS ths fan was still at max spped. I tried to control the Temperature...and I think the problem is here:
when I enter the command  temperature g, i get the message segmentation fault...
However if I try to set the fan speed to 0 to stop it (using fanspeed s command) nothing happens...the fan still speeds at max...

Have I miss something...where did I go wrong?...can someone Help me...

Thanks in advance...

Re: Problem with fancontrol script

I'm using firmware version 1.07... works very quietly without touching any script.
With earlier firmware versions fan was noisier and I had to do some modifications in scripts.

Re: Problem with fancontrol script

I just started having the same problem... I did exactly how the process is described here http://nas-tweaks.net/CH3SNAS:Tutorials … g_binaries

#temperature g
Segmentation fault

Then I stopped fanctrl, but I still get

temperature g
Segmentation fault

If I try to start fancontrol is also get Segmentation fault.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Re: Problem with fancontrol script

the command is temperature g 0, not temperature g.

Re: Problem with fancontrol script

Yes, missing the '0' argument causes a seg fault...

For yet another alternative fan control script check this post I made some time ago: http://dns323.kood.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=6072
