hi everyone
i've just installed usb-storage.ko from http://www.aroundmyroom.com/2009/10/21/ … torage-ko/ and seems to work ok, the problem is:
the default firmware for the MNAS doesn't know how to access ntfs.
i’m unable to mount ntfs volumes: since I have several ntfs-formatted rather large external drives, it would be VERY useful, even if limited to read-only.
-t auto
barfs:
Mounting /dev/sdc1 on /mnt/HD_a2/sdc1
Failed
mount: mounting /dev/sdc1 on /mnt/HD_a2/sdc1 failed: Invalid argument
-t ntfs
instead
Mounting /dev/sdc1 on /mnt/HD_a2/sdc1
Failed
mount: mounting /dev/sdc1 on /mnt/HD_a2/sdc1 failed: No such device
I tried to load a ntfs.ko for the dns-323/ch3snas v 1.03) but of course it doesn’t work (bad module format,
could be for the uclibc vs glibc issue?)
when i tried to install the ffp package fuse-2.7.3-ffp05.tgz (dns-323/ch3snas again) I got basically the same error (and anyway, i'm not aware of any port of the ntfs-3g package)
Dennis is not supporting the MNAS anymore, currently i have no linux installed to cross-compile from, let alone the full toolchain (or the required knowledge, indeed!!!)
does anybody a suitable ntfs.ko at hand? or the ability and the necessary setup in place? :-(
tia

bump, nobody going to do it?
since the mnas is - to my knowledge - currently unable to access ntfs in any way, one has the only option (for large files) to use ext2/3 on the external drive, which is - iirc - not reliably usable under winslow (and frankly i just don't know what can happen with filenames with kanjis inside)

Anyone have a updated ntfs.ko module? I have excactly the same ntfs.ko module and get the exact same errors.
I can't format my external hard drive to ext2/3 as its a 2TB with 1.9 TB of data. No way to backup all this stuff.

Hi!
Did any of you get it working anyway?
