Hi,
has anyone found a way to use NFS on the DNS-323 with Windows 7? I know that the Enterprise and Ulimate Editions have included a NFS client, unfortunately I only have the Professional version.

Hi,
Turn on NFS Service: In ControlPanel ->Program&Component->WindowsComponents->NFS Services->NFS Client.
It maybe not exactly.... I'm using russian version of W7 Ultimate and its work for me.
Sorry for my English

Yes, unfortunately, only the Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows 7 include Microsofts NFS client. My Professional Edition doesn't.

+1, I need a free/legal solution to mount NFS on my Windows 7 Professional. Of course I don't want to buy the Ultimate. IMHO Microsoft shouldn't ask for an extra fee for connecting to a free server, the price between Pro and Ultimate is much more than between Home and Pro. I need Pro's features but it's too much for just one Ultimate feature...

Out of curiosity: What are the benefits of NFS over CIFS/SMB/SAMBA? Why use NFS for accessing data on the DNS-323 instead of the window's-native option?

Not on the DNS, but there is a free solution that works for win7.
It goes by installing cygwin, which contains a free NFS Server. You can get a resumed installation description here:
http://www.mpcclub.com/wiki/index.php/NFS_server_setup
Start where it says Windows,stop before it says:
also you need to create the directory with the folowing commands
* mkdir /kissnfs
(The article is referring to the installation for a media player)
the article is based on http://www.csparks.com/CygwinNFS/index.xml, which is more elaborate.
