Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

chmod impossible through SMB

Hello,

I am a new user of DNS323. I just received the box 2 days ago, moved to firmware 1.03, formatted two 250 HDDs in RAID1, access to everybody on Volume_1. No fun_plug yet. I'm using ubuntu edgy eft.

I mount the DNS in /etc/fstab:
"//dns323/Volume_1 /mnt/maison    smbfs   rw,user,auto,username=admin,password=xxxx,fmask=777"

I can then access the DNS323. My problem is that any new dir/file created by a "standard" user has root rights (root:root), and I cannot change them. Any advice? Something wrong in my fstab?

  Thanks in advance.

Re: chmod impossible through SMB

Me again. I move to NFS through Fonze's fun_plug. Works fine now.
