It seems Microsoft is trying as hard as they can to make me angry. In vista, I couldn't make a full backup of my computer, and now in windows 7, I can do that, but now I can't do it over a network, which is the only way I have ever been able to move stuff! My question is: can the USB hack for the 323 be used to connect my computer, so that it will be recognized as an external drive, and not a network one? (I have a USB male --> male cable.)
If not, then does someone have any background with VHD (virtual hard disk) files? that's the only other way I can back up to the drive.

Thanks, that seems like a good program, but the bullet point "Differential/incremental backup is not implemented yet" under limitations steers me away. I'm using a 1 TB RAID option, and I'm backing up ~250 GB of stuff. My DLink would be full after just 4 backups.
I'd still like to know about the USB hack.

Off topic:
Took a look at the clonezilla page.
Looks to be 'linux' only.

It is linux but it can backup a windisk. Anyhow clonezilla is good if you want to restore an entire disk or partition. It not so good if you only want to restore a file or a folder. But this is thread do not belong here.
