nmbd stops randomly

Hi,

I'm having a Samba problem with my DNS-323 modded with FFP, twonky, and USB.  After a few days of normal uptime, the nmbd process stops (it no longer appears in the ps output).  When this happens, all my Windows PCs can't find the network shares anymore (which is to be expected because they're mapped by name and nmbd provides the netbios name resolution).

I can still access the shares by IP address.  Rebooting the DNS-323 solves the problem until the next time nmbd decides to stop.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks

Re: nmbd stops randomly

Mine has been running for over 100 days without a restart. I don't run Twonky, maybe disable it for a bit a see what happens. You should also be able to restart the service without a full system restart. Worst case, write a script and run it via cron to see if the service is running, and start it if it is not.

3 * (DNS-323 with 2 * 2TB) = 12TB Running FW v1.08 & FFP v0.5
