Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi everybody,
one more noobish question from a nas beginner. I just set up my 323 with funplug 0.5 and NZBGET. So far it is all working and I can already download from the usenet. The only prob is, that I suffer very poor dowload speeds. With my win7 machine and sabnzb I get speeds around 3MB/s - on my NAS with NZBGET I only get about 1 MB/s. I just checked the settings and everything is to full speed and up to 50 connections.
Does anybody have an idea what I´m doing wrong? The NAS is directly plugged to my 100Mbit Wlanrouter.
Thanks a lot and cheers!!

Max speed for the nzbget is 2.3 to 3MB/s depending on how you configured the configuration for nzbget. So tweak the direct write options, why use 50 connections when 4 is enough?
There are many user using the complete configuration package I created and many users will reach +2MB/s speeds

@stubbi -- I have the exact same problem.
WinXP w/ Newsleecher: 3 MB/s or 24 mbps or 24,000 kbps
323 w/ Fun_Plug, NZBget, NZBgetweb : 1000 KB/s or 1 MB/s or 8mbps or 8,000 kbps
NOTE to others with throughput issues, go to your DLink-settings-page->setup->lan and disable Jumbo Frames
I experimented with this and my NZBget speed would go from 750 KB/s (enabled) to 1000 KB/s (disabled)
here are my current relevant [I think] settings in config -> download queue
DirectWrite = yes
crcCheck = no
ThreadLimit = (tried 50, and 100).. though still experimenting with this as per your advice
DownloadRate = 0
WriteBufferSize = 0
Please advise any changes @zeroday. Id very much like to hit 2 MB/s on my FIOS line.

Hi everybody,
sorry for my late reply I was busy the last coupe days.
Right at the moment I fugured out, that if I disable SSL and switch to a non-SSL Port like 119 my speeds rise up from 1,2mb up to 2,5 - 2,7 mb....
Could the SSL encryption be the bottle neck in here???
Please don´t tell me it is, cause I wanna use SSL 100%
Cheers

@comfreak: just download my complete package @ http://www.aroundmyroom.com
yes, SSL is encryption and SSL is causing CPU usage .. so yes, this means your speed is affected for 1000% sure
