Netatalk 2.1.5

Hi Fonz,

Just wondering if we could get an updated Netatalk package built with uam_dhx2.so included. The developer preview of OSX 10.7 won't work with the existing authentication methods.

Re: Netatalk 2.1.5

Do we know how long it is going to be before Netatalk 2.2 goes GA?  Should we try Netatalk 2.2beta1 instead?

Re: Netatalk 2.1.5

Netatalk 2.2beta1 is still listed as unstable. Not sure I want to trust it with my transfers quite yet. I do like the sound of built-in zeroconf registration, though.

Re: Netatalk 2.1.5

Agreed, zeroconf is cool...  The more we don't have to "manually" setup, the better.  Since ffp currently comes with Avahi 0.6.24, we may not be able to take advantage of zeroconf, though -- we may need Avahi 0.6.28 to fully leverage zeroconf.

Anyway, I am cool either way, at the moment.  My Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.x) environment is working wonderfully with Avahi 0.6.24 and Netatalk 2.1.3.

If Lion (OSX 10.7) requires a different uam, perhaps we can start with Netatalk 2.2beta1 to help work any kinks out so that we are stable by the time Lion goes to market?

Re: Netatalk 2.1.5

I'll be fine either way, if someone is able to cross-compile it (and I think it requires a new version of DB, as well).
