Well, if you are not using the default RPC port, you have to specify the port number when using transmission-remote:

Code:

$ transmission-remote <your rpc port> --session-info

And also when using the web interface:

Code:

http://<ip of your dnds-323>:<rpc port>/transmission/web/

Why you could access the web interface before, even though you had already changed the RPC port, I don't know. Sounds mysterious smile
Maybe you defined port forwarding in your router from port 80 to Transmissions RPC port, and the forwarding rule is no longer active?

That is exactly how I used to access the WEBUI, but now it would only work on the default 9091 port. It is running now so I am just going to leave it.

Thanks for all of your help.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

If you aren't using 9091, then per the help you need to specify the port on the command line:

transmission-remote [host:port] [options]
transmission-remote [http://host:port/transmission/] [options]

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

I did change the rpc-port in the settings.json file and have never had any issues with connecting to the WEBUI. The DNS-323 has been rebooted numerous times with success, it was just this one time that it stopped working and will only work now on the default port of 9091.

The original issue was not so much accessing the WEBUI but the Transmission daemon would suddenly stop after a few minutes.

The daemon is running smoothly now, that is when I got into the connection issue with using a non-default port. It works now on the default port so I am just going to leave it.

If you search this thread for my earlier posts, you will find I've posted the link before.

Transmission v2.22 is out!

Get it from the first post, as always. And also let me know if you encounter any problems.

Cheers!

Thanks.

It seems I got a problem though: i upgraded from transmission-2.03-1 and immediately discovered that my proxy configuration was not taken into account any more. The config file is OK, but my IP is displayed by checkmytorrentip.com . I moved back to 2.03.-1 and the problem disappeared.

Tried to reinstal the latest version 2.22, no proxy any more.

So i am safely running 2.03 at the moment.

thanks again.

R.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hi!
I updated from 2.20 and it seems that 2.22 fails all the times when i try to use web interface or transmission-remote-gui.
I tried to clean my installation, but it still fails.

When i start transmission from console with -f and -g flags it starts and works well before i try any of these tools. After this deamon writes "Killed".

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

KyleK thanks so much for your builds!
umm, would it be rude for me to ask if you could keep older versions on your server for those that can't upgrade to the latest due to tracker rules?
In particular, I need 2.12 or 2.12-2 if the PeerID is the same... but I thought for the benefit of others you could keep a few older versions available after new versions come out.  If it's not too much trouble that is.

Looks like older versions posted by funfiler have been deleted from mediafire.

Yeah, I didn't see the need to keep them around. I do have them on my local system as I archive everything though. I can repost them if necessary.

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

I had to revert back to Transmission 2.12-1 I was using before. After I installed Transmission 2.22-1 it stopped working on my CHM3NAS with fun_plug 0.5 .. no connection on either its embedded web server nor thru Transmission Remote GUI 3.0, Transmission 2.22-1 just locked itself and didn't respond anymore while verifying a couple 20GB files for torrent seeding.
With Transmission 2.12-1 there are no issues and everything works flawlessly, it's over 3 months I am using Transmission 2.12-1.
I hope a new stable version is going to be released soon because 2.22-1 is unusable as it is.

I don't know. I can download from these links and the files open fine for me. These are copies of the archives that KyleK provided without any modification.

I've been running it from the day it was released and it runs fine for me. Have you made the appropriate modifications to the startup script? Did you check the log for errors? Have you tried reconfiguring from scratch?

Found old Transmission-2.13-1.tgz, and that installed fine.
But now ofcourse i removed curl, so transmission won't start.

Anyone can confirm the FunFiler files doesn't work?*

Edit:
*I downloaded curl-7.19.4-1.tgz from  inreto.de and it worked fine.

Need working mirror for Transmission-2.22-1.tgz ! yikes

Re: [REL] Transmission 1.3

Hey guys,

sorry for the offline files this weekend. The server acted up for reasons unknown, and of course I was not anywhere near it to fix the issue hmm

The files should be up again now.

I also did a bit of cleanup and removed some very old versions. I did it  to limit the number of packages floating around, since the Transmission devs won't give any support for anything but the most recent builds.

If you are still relying on any of the older builds, let me know and I'll put them up again.
(But please, first try the most recent one to see if it works.)
