Q: Do I need to have the guest account on my 323 to use the printer?

Hi,

I have deleted the guest account from my DNS 323.
Volume_1 and all its contents are r/w for an Administrator account I have set up.
Within Volume_1 are home directories of different users, each accessable r/w only for the individual users.

So far most things work, but I cannot print at all.
The error message is "Cannot at job/document to the printing queue" (or similar).

My thought now is:
When accessing the printer I haven't found a way to enter any credentials (user/password).
I assume that the printer queue on Volume_1 is probably accessed by the "guest" account then.
Since that doesn't exist anymore the printing fails.

Does this make sense?

Cheers,

Re: Q: Do I need to have the guest account on my 323 to use the printer?

More info:

When I'm at the telnet command prompt and try lpq I get:

/ # /sys/crfs/LPRng/lpq
Printer 'lp@localhost' - cannot open connection - No such file or directory
Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol
/ #

Hmmm?

The printer is powered on and listed in the webinterface of the DNS323...
