Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi,
Is there a funplug app or way to configure the DNS323 to sync with an FTP site directly without using a PC based sync application ?
Thanks!

Is the intent to backup the NAS to a remote server or to backup a remote server to the NAS?
If it's the former - firmware 1.09 includes support for online back up to Ctera Networks cloud based storage - I don't thinks it uses ftp, but the backup runs without a PC once it has been configured. Additionally I believe the included ftp server supports fxp server-to-server transfers, which can theoretically do what you're asking, however I've never attempted to use it.
If it's the latter - all of the firmwares include a scheduled downloader that should be able to do what you need.

Thanks!
I'd like to sync both ways so that an FTP site and a dns-323 drive or folder are always in sync. If I delete a file on the NAS it deletes the file on the FTP site and vice-versa. SyncbackPro does this really well BUT it runs on a PC. I'll look at the scheduled downloader but that doesn't seem to be a two-way sync application.

The scheduled downloader is not two-way sync, and if I recall correctly, neither is the ctera cloud solution - I never did see the logic behind a "sync style" backup (wait unti you delete a file by accident), but if it works for you ...

lftp may do what you ask for.
Find it in optware. http://dns323.kood.org/howto:optware

cool! thanks, I looked that the optware link but now I am confused what the difference is between fonz fun plug, optware and then also ipkg . I need to do some more research to figure that out.
Do you know where there is a description to lftp , to see it has the type of functionality I need anyway...?
BTW, the filesets I'm wanting to sync aren't mission critical to me, I just want a remote FTP mirror and a local NAS mirror of essentially the same fileset. If i delete in folder A1. then it deletes on A2 and vice versa. If I or anyone else adds to folder C1 then it mirrors the file to folder c2 etc etc. I'm waffling, I could have just said Sync.
Cheers,
