Hello,
So I made my first attempt at everything today and installed fun plug and all the other software but can't seem to get the white list setup correctly. I can't access the transmission from the web or from the remote gui. The error I receive from Firefox is the connection was reset. I'd appreciate the help and thanks.

Did you follow the directions in post #1 in this thread to set your whitelist?
http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2719-%5BR … ssion.html
What were the results?
What does the transmission log say?

I didn't follow those direction but followed a different set which got me to edit the rpc whitelist manually. How can I access the transmission log? Also transmission remote says can't connect because it was rejected by peer.

I suggest you follow the informaiton in the link I provided.

So would I have to reset the things I previously changed before following those steps? If so could you explain how?

I tried to update using that code and got one error which still causes the remote gui to say connection reset by peer. Any Help?

Anyone who can help?

This is all stated in the first post, but here goes anyhow:
By default, remote access to Transmission is limited to the IP address Transmission runs on (127.0.0.1). You have to add at least your local networks IP mask so you can use Transmission Remote GUI or the web interface.
If you want to access from outside of your home network (i.e. from work, or a smartphone), you need to configure the firewall of your router to properly forward Transmissions HTTP port to the outside world. You would also probably need a DynDNS address if your IP changes regularly.
When setting up transmission-daemon without specifying the parameter '-w <downloaddir>', Transmission will use the current users home folder as default download folder. In most cases, this would be /home/root, which sits on the NAS' ROM and will fill up in a second or so (there's not much free space left on that thing).
You can change the download dir after Transmission has been started, using transmission-remote:
$ transmission-remote [9091] -w /mnt/HD_a2/Downloads
Since Transmission runs as user nobody by default, make sure that download folder belongs to user "nobody" and has the proper rights.

Thanks for the help. I ended up uninstalling everything and redoing the entire process and it worked like a charm.

I may have spoken a bit soon but now I have a problem again. I downloaded a few torrents through this process and they downloaded fine but now it doesn't work any more I get permission denied when I try to download which is making me think the download directory got changed to the default on the DNS. How would I change it back to the correct folder?

Stop transmission
edit the settings.json file
